Thoughts: I never thought much about The Jabberwocky until I saw the wonderful rendition by The Muppets. Honestly, it was the one time the poem made sense.
With all of the action that happens in New Trials it's hard to take the time to properly celebrate everyone's birthdays. I feel that the only big birthday blowouts were Miho's 15th, Sakura's 17th and Syaoran's 18th.
Tomoyo sings The Rose (Eriol accompanied) and the fandom's owb songbird Hazuki made a cover of the song too. Reading the lyrics makes it clear that it's so relatable to what Sakura is going through.
Mirror of truth reflection update: when Sakura looked in she saw Syaoran looking back sadly.
I'm a huge fan of tea so I'm so glad that a Tea Café was chosen as the summer cultural festival event.
When Yutaka-kun asked Rika out for the second time since winter, I was sure that Wish-chan was going to shepherd her into an age-appropriate relationship. But she still refused him!
I love how Sakura only realized that she forgot her phone in the classroom at the end of the day. Today our phones are pretty much an extension of ourselves!
Seeing Eron become nicer for Sakura's sake since he's in love with her is so eerie considering his past.
I love how the recurring theme of how the person you love isn't necessarily your number one person. Kai and Meilin are excellent examples of that (while they love each other, their persons are still Miho and Syaoran) and Eron and Erika too, but when it comes to S&S I'm sure that it's one and the same.
I would have loved visiting the International Tea Café! But how Takashi managed to get a hold of a real monkey is beyond me. Maybe Wish-chan was inspired by the Friends arc when Ross owned a pet monkey.
I messaged Melanie about her opinion of Kara's Tarot reading for Sakura and she forwarded me to her interpretation that she did back in April 2014. The way that the events lined up to come true was remarkable. It's the the Files section of the Facebook Group dating back to April 24th, 2014.
I would have never imagined that Eron would have been the first person that Sakura opened up to about Syaoran, especially when you consider Tomoyo patiently waiting in the sidelines.
And so we begin Sakura's memory loss storyline. I love how Wish-chan brought up her worst alternate reality in Yue's judgement to contrast against how big of a deal choosing to forget Syaoran is.
Man, Tomoyo gets all the bonfire dancing fun. She got to dance with Eriol in this chapter and she'll get to dance with Leiyun one year later. Yet here we have Sakura who danced with Eron two years in a row. With NT rapidly concluding, we're never going to see S&S share a bonfire dance unless the epilogue takes place during their last Summer Cultural Festival before leaving high school. After all, Syaoran did remind Sakura that there was only one chance left in a recent chapter.
Arima and Asuma may have gotten married first in NT, but Kai wins for first proposal. Sure it was semi-serious and it was rejected, but he would have went along with it if Meilin did agree to run away with him.
Meilin flung her arms around Kai, so tightly that he winced. “Don’t you dare think of leaving without me,” she whispered. “Where you go, I’ll follow too.” She tilted her chin up and let him give her the deepest kiss yet. Thank goodness we have Kai and Meilin handy as a couple who speaks their mind! I really love Mesel's fanart of this scene.
Hmmm, Eriol is actually taller than Kaho now. While I know he's sixteen, I still imagine Mizuki-sensei being taller than him as seen in the fanart that I used.
Kai and Meilin winning the Best Couple Contest is one of my favourite parts of the chapter. If anyone wants to check out snippets of thei r adventure, Winterwing3000's Chapter 56.9: Runaway Adventures in Tokyo is a must read. It's unfinished, but it gives you just enough to leave the rest to the imagination.
Five Force Treasure location status: Wutai gave Leiyun the Five Force Sword for his Japan trip. To sum up, Sakura has the necklace and ring, Miho has tge mirror and the twins have their earrings.
